Bafta belonged to Hurt Locker

Hurt locker stole the show at Bafta, Shutting out avatar with a score of 6-2.  This come back by Hurt Locker only adds to the hype about the big night, Oscars. Kathryn Bigelow, Cameron’s ex-wife became the first woman to win best director award at Bafta. Not a small feat at all. Bigelow was confident and dismissed talk of a rivalry with Cameron, saying she was “real honored” to be nominated alongside her former husband. In her award acceptance speech she said: “I would like to dedicate this to never abandoning the need to find a resolution for peace”.

Along with Best Director award, Hurt Locker won the Best Movie award. On the other hand, Avatar only managed Best Production Design and Best Achievement In Special Visual Effects , not exactly higher tiered awards. The complete list goes as following:
