Netbooks! Say hello to Nvidia’s Ion 2 chipset “the next generation of Ion”. Nvidia has been finally confirmed the launch of its NVIDIA Ion 2 chipset that will bring the HD videos to netbooks with Intel Atom-compatible graphics chipset.
The demand of netbooks have rapidly increased over the past 2 years, and more and more laptop making companies have launched their version of netbooks to capture the market. As netbooks getting famous in the playground of technology the HD videos is also making its importance among new laptops.
The new Nvidia’s Ion 2 will deliver the high definition quality videos to Intel’s latest Atom processors, which were released in December last year. Atom processors already capable of playing 720p video, but with Nvidia’s Ion 2 platform it can play full 1080p blu-ray HD video.
The Nvidia’s Ion chipset will work with Intel’s N450 processor for netbooks, and D410 and D510 processors for low-priced desktops, Nvidia said. Mainly of the Ion 2-based netbooks may come with the premium version of Windows, as different to the limited Windows Starter version, Ragones said.
